We looked at how the current grid could use their fashion partnerships to create looks that were worthy of this years Met Gala Theme: Superfine Tailoring Black Style.
In a matter of hours, Lewis Hamilton will be gracing the steps of the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York to co-host this year's Met Gala. With the theme being “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style” in honour of the museum’s exhibition on Black Dandyism, Hamilton has the opportunity to create something truly historic. . However, despite Lewis Hamilton being known as the fashion icon of the paddock, in recent years, more drivers have rocked up to the circuit wearing statement outfits and choosing to show off their personal style. This left us with one question: What would the rest of the grid wear if invited to the Met Gala?
Max Verstappen
Reigning Formula 1 World Champion Max Verstappen has been known to love his Louis Vuitton backpack. Since LVMH is now an official partner of Formula 1, it could not be more fitting for him to attend the MET Gala in one of Louis Vuitton's outfits. The brand’s 2025 Fall/Winter collection features a burgundy suit matched with a pink, glittery, tweed-inspired trench coat.
Loose full-length trousers are paired with a boxy suit jacket, making for a casual and comfortable take on the sharp suit aesthetic that would suit Verstappen’s easygoing nature. The combination of sleek and playfulness would embody Verstappen’s casual attitude (and newfound girl dad status) and the individualism Black Dandyism stands for.
